Engineering & Construction
The Engineering department provides crane modification projects and projects related to cranes, lifting equipment and drilling equipment.
We perform installation projects where lifting operations and rope access are critical factors. We also work on projects where we represent the customer as a project leader or installation manager.
As a consequence of ageing rigs and the focus on lifetime elongation, our engineering department is seeing a growth in modification projects, life cycle analysis projects and crane replacement projects. Our market consists of rig owners and energy companies located mainly in the North Sea.
Some of the major projects we have worked on the resent time:
- Flare tip replacement at Mongstad
- New access to pedestal crane on Transocean Winner
- Lifting heavy equipment to top of derrick on Transocean Searcher
- Upgrading pedestal crane for personnel lifting on Ocean Vanguard
- Thruster replacement on Norne FPSO
- Replacing control system on offloading crane on Petrojarl 1
The engineering department is now divided into three groups: design, installation and crane maintenance. As a consequence, our skills will be further specialised and there will be a greater focus on our products.
We have increased our workforce by the addition of a further eight employees. These new recruits have reinforced our skills base within field supervision, electro/Eex-control/thermography, and also in general design and installation planning.
Our main focus is to continue with development of the department and to continue to deliver projects that will help our customers improve their results. We will also continue to focus on using the right skills and ensuring the appropriate quality of all our deliveries – correct delivery at the right time!
